PT370 Intuitive Acrylic Painting with Linda Feinstein

  Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Tuition: $215

Materials fee: $10

All Levels

This class is designed to bring playfulness and ease to your creative process by embracing the joy of intuitive painting. Guided prompts and creative exercises will help you explore a variety of tools and techniques while connecting with your artistic voice.

At the heart of this journey is learning to activate your canvas and respond intuitively to its energy as you develop a style that is uniquely your own.

Mondays are geared toward beginners.  Attendance at the first class is mandatory.

Supplies:

CANVAS: Two canvas. Larger canvases work best for intuitive painting...no smaller than 24"x30"
( 24"x36" is my preference). I purchase my canvases at Michael's when they are sale. If you are just
starting out, I recommend “Level 2 Gallery Wrapped” (no canvas boards).
ACRYLIC PAINT: Fluid acrylic paints (not pouring or flowing paint) work best for intuitive
painting...we will be painting many layers and they dry quicker than heavy body paint. There are some
techniques that can't be done without fluid acrylics. Liquitex Basic FLUIDS (they are in a bottle, not a
tube) are affordable and a good place to start building your fluid paint arsenal!
The basic colors you need: Yellow, red, blue, green, black, white. These are good because we can
make many colors just by mixing these together. If you have more colors, bring them!
BRUSHES: Some long handle brushes, but bring whatever you already have. There are more brushes
in class for you to try.
ACRYLIC GLAZING MEDIUM: This is optional but very nice to have. It gives paint a smoothness and
transparency without watering it down. Any brand works.
If you are new to intuitive painting, don't worry about all of the supplies listed as I will have lots! Just
be sure to have the canvases, basic fluid acrylic colors, and some brushes. I will provide a painting
pallet for you.
