Exploration of traditional, safe methods of etching using ferric chloride with copper plates. This Friday session is for students with drawing ability and considerable etching experience who may expand on more advanced techniques. The studio is equipped with both a large 36” and smaller 19” press along with a rosin box and spray paint area for aquatints. This is a traditional oil-based ink class with minimal solvent use.

Supply List:

Apron, etching stylus & burnisher, small pad of tracing vellum, pencils. If needed: any personally preferred printmaking paper and/or copper plates in addition to the single, 4"x6" plate and paper provided to each student at the beginning of the session by the material fee.
